Kentucky Derby Party
A four-hand piano show of stride piano, ragtime, boogie woogie, swing and songs from the Great American Songbook. Pioneers in the use of four-hands piano in jazz, Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi have earned widespread success with their arrangements of classics from the stride piano, ragtime, and boogie woogie traditions, as well as from the Swing Era. In recent projects, they have focused on the repertoire of the Golden Age of Broadway and Hollywood, as the songs written for the musicals of the stage and screen represent a high point of creative ferment in American popular music. On Thursday, February 6th we celebrated our 14th year playing Fantasy Football. There was fabulous lunch served along with and award ceremony, and a small memento of appreciation. This year we had six teams and 22 participants. The winner for the season was TEAM Shamrocks (consisting of Captain Don Sullivan and teammates, John Tepe and Bob Dorsch.) Second place went to TEAM Tigers (Captain Pat Coggins and teammate Henry Daum.) New members (who indicated they knew NOTHING about football) had a grand time and mentioned how they connected more with grandkids and family members following being involved in the league.
