Meet Daragh Matheson

Executive Chef and Director of
Culinary Operations at Stonegates

Chef Daragh (pronounced Dara) has a most impressive background. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and began professionally cooking at the age of 15. He has travelled extensively to Germany, Australia, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Benelux (Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg), Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, Portugal, Mexico, Greece, and Australia, among others. He is widely recognized for his culinary talent.

Daragh taught at the Art Institute, achieving his CEC (Certified Executive Chef) and CCE (Certified Culinary Educator) Certifications and a bachelor’s degree. He is currently working towards his MBA and has applied for his Certified Master Chef by the ACF (American Culinary Federation). There are only 75 Master Chefs in the United States. Daragh is also a Certified Court of Master Sommelier Level 1, WSET Level 2.

Daragh is delighting the residents of Stonegates with his exquisite dishes served with an international flavor and unique charisma which he acquired over years of traveling the globe. With over 30 years of diversified experience and training, Daragh is no stranger to food innovation. His secret ingredient is his ability to transfer his passion for food and the culinary arts into inspiration for his entire culinary team at Stonegates. Daragh and his culinary team work together to create the healthy, fine-dining experience the residents at Stonegates deserve. He hopes to continue to highlight the importance of using the finest ingredients, not only for the quality of the food, but for their health benefits as well.
